Dr Tim Clayton is a Consultant Paediatric Dermatologist from Manchester. He undertakes clinics at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital as well as Salford Royal which is one of the largest centres for dermatology in the UK.
Tim leads an adult atopic dermatitis service at Salford Royal and also undertakes a general adult clinic there. He completed his training in Dermatology at the Centre for Dermatology in Leeds in 2006. He then undertook a post CCT fellowship in paediatric dermatology at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin Dublin.
Following this he was appointed as a Consultant Paediatric Dermatologist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital Liverpool before relocating back to Manchester in 2009. Tim has published over 60 original articles and has also been asked to write a chapter for the latest edition Rook’s Textbook of Dermatology.
He is an executive member of the British Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Dermatology (BSPAD) and he has active clinical research interests in atopic dermatitis and acne. He has established a vascular malformation clinic at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and also the Epidermolysis Bullosa service in Manchester.
